Siclovia in a New Spot: Play in the Southtown Street!

By Michelle Hernandez @Familylovesa
I'm sure you've heard that Siclovia is moving to Southtown. This is not a permanent move, the event will go back to the Broadway streets this fall, but it's a great opportunity to highlight all of the work that has been done to improve the Mission Reach.
The route begins at Cesar Chavez Blvd. and St. Mary's and extends to where Mission Rd. meets Concepcion Park.
Siclovia in a new spot: Play in the Southtown street!
With so many neighborhoods along the route, this leaves many families with so many options to be active! If you don't live within walking distance, free parking can be found at the SAISD Lot on Lavaca, Green Elementary on Whittier/Presa and the Juvenile Detention Center on Mitchell. Check out this map for more parking options.
Reclovias can be found at Concepcion Park, Roosevelt park, Brackenridge High School and Bonham Academy.
Luckily our 5 tips before heading out still apply. So, get out and play!
It will be hard to resist with this beautiful weather we are scheduled to have!
