Shahbaz Sharif Inaugurated Metro Bus Service

Metro bus service Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister Punjab, on Sunday inaugurated the Metro bus service.

Led by the deputy prime minister of Turkey, a high-profile Turkish delegation as well as the diplomats from various countries participated in the inaugural ceremony of Metro Bus project.

The project, first of its nature in Pakistan, has been built at a cost of Rs30 billion in 10 months. More than 25,000 labourers worked day and night to complete the great project. The 27-kilometer long track of bus has been decorated stunningly. Chief Minister has announced to distribute of a cash prize of one crore among the laboruers.

It is pertinent to mention that the completion time of the project was ever lesser than in Turkey, where the 42- kilometer long metro bus project took three years for completion, where as In Lahore, the mega project was completed in a record period of 10 months.

Thanks to metro bus service, the 27- kilometer long journey from Gajjumata to Shahdara, which took almost two hours, would now be covered in just an hour. For the first four weeks the bus service will be free of charge for the general public. There will be special reserved seats for women, olds, and disables in the bus.

While addressing to inaugural ceremony Shahbaz Sharif greeted the nation, saying metro bus service system has been made purely for the nation.

He said the metro bus service is an imperishable example of Pak-Turkish friendship, adding they will start the bus projects of its nature in the other big cities of the country if God granted them the opportunity.
