Seflie at Longboad Winery

Seflie at Longboad Winery
Before heading out to Paris for my birthday, Erick and I set out for Longboard Winery in Healdsburg. I had been wanting to do a more dramatic shoot for A Mused for a while, and we had found the perfect opportunity! I love the idea of strong contrasts; causal and elegant, light and dark, free spirited and refined.

They say that opposites attract, and it would seem that they also make for beautiful moments. Focusing on the idea of high contrast, Erick and I shot at Longboard winery with me in one of my favorite gowns. The winery is located in Healdsburg, CA and is known for it's fun, laid back atmosphere. I loved the idea of playing dress up in a formal satin gown to shoot on location.
Longboard Winery was founded by Oded Shakked who became interested in wine making while traveling the world as a surfer. A hands-on creator (he also creates surfboards) he fell in love with Sonoma County and it's easygoing culture, and opened a refreshingly relaxed winery that produces fantastic wines.
I created my look for the shoot using my new PUR Cosmetics Selfie Palette. I tend to gravitate towards the more natural look, usually going for dewy skin, rosy cheeks, and a swipe of mascara. I love that with this palette I have all my makeup essentials. It makes it perfect for travel! The Selfie Palette is wonderful in that it's full of shades that are ones I would actually use. The gloss is pink without being overly so, and has a hint of shimmer, while the mascara is jet black and gives incredible length. Later I will be sharing PUR's new Eye Polish (seriously so good)!
I am so pleased with how this shoot came out! I was thinking that it would be fun to schedule monthly shoots that feature more of an editorial feel...Thoughts?
