Healthy and Glowing Skin


A while back in on of my older posts I wrote about ” Secrets To Shiny And Healthy Hair “, I thought it would be a great idea to do a follow up with a post about skin.

First things first, I don’t want to be a bore but we all know that eating a lot of veggies and fruits is a great way to glowing skin. So I am not going to lecture you with it. I will just give you some tips on the things that I do in addition to a good diet.


I drink at least a gallon or a gallon and a half of water a day. Water cleanses your whole body like nothing else can. I noticed when I begin to drink a little less water ( in the winter usually ), I start getting more breakouts and my skin doesn’t glow as much.


Right now I am taking Hair Skin Nails vitamins. Not all of them are the same, make sure the once you purchase has a great amount of Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Iodine ( kelp ). I’ve experimented with several different brands and from my own experience I learned, just because vitamins are more expensive, doesn’t mean they are better ( they weren’t ). You should experiment with different brands as well, because everyone is different and some brands can work for you way better than others. Within 2 weeks of taking vitamins you should notice the difference in your skin ( if the supplement is working with your body )

Antioxidants ( not in a supplement )

This is a great tip because I also experimented with antioxidant supplements and I found that getting them from Superfoods is way better. These are the only things I consume as my daily dose of antioxidants – Goji Berries, Raw Cacao and Yerba Mate Tea. Antioxidants prevent your skin and cells from aging, and it makes a huge difference in the appearance of your skin.
Every day I drink 2 cups of Yerba Mate, I place 2 tables spoons of raw cacao into my pre-workout shake, and I have a handful of goji berries in the morning with a full glass of water.


The right way of cleansing your face

I only wash my face with cleanser once a day – at night. In the morning I just splash my face with warm and then cold water at least 20 times.  The reason for that is our skin has natural oils that it needs to keep moisturized. If you strip those oils your skin dries up, and water alone is a perfect cleanser.
I also use a natural cleanser by Dr. Hauschka, I found his products to be the most amazing and gentle products ever. They are holistic and completely natural ( only if you order from the German manufacturing, because  the restriction of chemicals they have in Europe ). Don’t buy them from the store in US because they add chemicals, I always order from Ebay and I make sure it says Original German Packaging. This is the only way to get them how they are meant to be – chemical free.


Don’t exfoliate too much

Twice a week is plenty, it’s your face not a floor. Also use natural face scrub. I wrote about  an amazing face scrub, mask and cleanser in one, in my older posts. I absolutely love this product and I’ve been using it for 10 years now. It’s really incredible.
Another option your have is to make your own at home: Take a round cotton pad, squeeze some lemon onto it and place brown sugar on top, now exfoliate your face. This works really great, because lemon naturally brightens your skin and with brown sugar you get natural yet effective exfoliation


Toner is NOT a myth

I use to think that using a toner is a complete waste of money, but then I realized I did’t use the right toner. It makes a huge difference if you are using a great toner, it helps your moisturizer to absorb better.
Make sure you buy a really good toner preferably with Plant Stem Cell as one of the ingredients. Since your skin absorbs everything you put on it, I would recommend you use natural skin care. Chemicals in skin care affect the rest of your body and your organs, so be wise when purchasing your products.


Use a face cream only once a day

In the morning, not at night. This is another great tip from Dr. Hauschka and when I tried and found it crazy good. Because at night your skins natural regeneration process occurs, since your skin is smart it doesn’t need your help with a cream at night. Most of the time the breakouts occur at night from too much moisturizer sitting on your pores ( at night your skin is more oily ).
So what you do is, after cleansing just wipe your face with a toner, that’s it. If you’ve been using a moisturizer at nights for a while, your skin might of gotten use to it. It will take your skin several days to loose that habit and start the regeneration process on it’s own.


One great face cream is all you need

Since I found a great natural cream by Dr. Hauschka and I’ve been using it as an eye cream as well. I also wrote about it in one of my older posts. I tried three of his creams so far, and my favorites are still the original rose day cream and quince day cream ( in German packaging ). From my personal experience I realized that there is no need for extra eye cream.


Do a facial at home once a week

What I do is steam my face over a somewhat boiling pan with water, and then I apply a clay mask that I mix with organic vinegar. This gives your pores an great full cleansing once a week.

It is said to maintain our skin looking younger we have consume maximum amount of water, fruits and vegetable. It is true and nobody can oppose this fact. Having such things in young age is the same as adding glitter in gold. My only one question is how far it is possible to maintain our skin looking younger even after passing young age. I actually don't want to become old, but I can't stop the time. One of my friends has suggested me about the lifestyle lift. I would give lots of thanks to him if his suggestion came true.
