Scientology and Bieber on a Monday Night

Posted on the 31 March 2015 by Kristy47 @watchingwaytoomuch
I know it's shocking, but there are shows I've never watched. I'm heading on vacation next week and need suggestions. WHAT SHOULD I WATCH?

Final numbers aren't in yet, but 15.8 million viewers tuned in to The Walking Dead Season finale Sunday night. This was the highest finale so far in the shows history. 10.4 million viewers fell into the 18-49 demo.Talking Dead, the after show,  did pretty well also with 7.5 million total viewers and 4.9 million A18-49.

Another ratings winner, Killing Jesus on Nat Geo. People really love zombies and Jesus.I feel like there's a joke there somewhere, but I can't get to it and religion's a touch subject. 3.7 million viewers tuned in to the mini-series.

THE SHOWS Going Clear
There's always been so much interest and intrigue around Scientology. I remember the Dianetics commercials on TV and of course, who hasn't seen that crazy Tom Cruise black turtleneck video? Is Scientology a religion or a cult? After watching this thing, I have no idea what it is but it's CRAZY STUFF. I got home from work last night, got comfortable and didn't even open up my laptop until it was over. L.Ron Hubbard, or LRH to his followers was a total kook, but Dave Miscavige just seems like an evil, greedy, maniac. The documentary didn't even talk about his missing wife, but I'm pretty sure the woman is still nowhere to be found. No Leah Remini which was a bit surprising. I definitely won't be able to do the documentary justice. If you have time, check it out. HBO is running it all over the place.
  Bieber Roast
O...M...G...I gotta say, I let my 13 year old stay up and watch the Bieber roast with me last night. Probably not my best parenting decision ever but the roast was HILARIOUS. I'd love to know how they got the dais together. Is it just who they could get or did Justin request these people?  At first I was like "why are THESE people roasting him?" but...it was freaking brutal and hilarious and I think I might even watch it again. Say what you will about Justin Bieber but he seemed to enjoy himself and took the brutal roasting in stride. He looked like an idiot in a purple suit, pink and orange striped socks and the Ellen hair, but I give him credit. No tears at all, just laughs. Big ones. Kevin Hart was a GREAT Roastmaster and who knew that Martha Stewart was THAT funny. Everyone on the dais did a great job. Pete Davidson, Shaq, Natasha Legero and even Ron Burgundy, but really, in my opinion, Martha was the big winner. Jeffery Ross, who's usually, THE roast GUY did a decent job, but Martha needs to start working some stuff out at Caroline's.     THE OTHER STUFF
-Congratulations to Anne Sweeney, she got the job I wanted! Netflix Board member. I have no idea EXACTLY what someone on the board of directors of any company does, but I'm betting Anne and the other directors will get to make decisions on what content to greenlight and what content to throw over to someone else.  Which movies and shows to kick off each quarter and which ones to add. That is SO for me. I think I'd make a great assistant Anne! Call me...happy to help!
-Trevor Noah. Ever hear of him before yesterday? He's the new Jon Stewart, so I guess now, I'll have to get to know him. First thing I did when I had a second, pulled him up on YouTube. He's pretty funny. Check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDk5ajNDgZc   -First, NBC did the The Sound of Music Live, then Peter Pan was this past December. FOX got in on the action and will be bring Grease Live soon enough. Wondering what's next? NBC is bring The Wiz back.  This time though, the show will move on to Broadway after it's TV premiere. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron who just gave their notice to The Oscar peeps, will be taking this project on. Could be a cool idea. It should have been the same model for Smash, but that was just a mess. Maybe all the kinks are worked out and the idea will work this time. Who should be Dorothy? I have no idea if Zoey from Black-ish can sing or dance, but if she can, she's my pick.

-Van Halen performed on Jimmy Kimmel last night. Alex, Eddie, Wolfie and DAVE did "Panama" and "Running with the Devil. " Dave supposedly smashed his nose with a microphone prior to showtime so in addition to the big wad of gum in his mouth during his songs, he was sporting a lovely bandage that looked like one of those Breathe Right strips. I hope he really did run into a microphone and not Eddie's fist already. The tour hasn't even started and there's drama.
