I recently went on a Field Trip to the Serenbe Community ~ a sustainable-living community and home to the latest HGTV Green Giveaway Home. All of the homes were gorgeous and used solar and geo-thermal power to provide the energy necessary for the care and feeding of a house. The organic farm delivers fresh organic fruit and vegetables to many Atlanta restaurants and has a Saturday Farmers Market near the town square of Serenbe ~ a local shared the tip that in order to get the tomatoes one must arrive fairly early! Below are just a few of the snapshots taken during my trip ~
As a side note, another local shared with our group that while HGTV was running the giveaway for the green home, people would sneak into the community and plant “good-luck charms” in the yard of the home! Is that not just wild!?! I registered a few times for the home (I do for all of the HGTV giveaway homes), but I never even dreamed of burying my lucky coin or 4-leaf clover in the yard! Imagine the possible items the new owners may find in their yard as they move in over the next couple of months! What’s the wildest good luck charm you have or can think of that you would bury in a yard for good luck?
