Sat 23rd April: Jackmode vs Pelski w/ The Martin Brothers, Hanne & Lore, Mr Ho, Nat Self...
Only a couple of weeks away, our very special Counter Culture is approaching fast. £8 earlybird tickets are back online, so pick them up at the RA event page.
To wet your apatite we have a few mp3s and soundcloud links from our lineup.
THE MARTIN BROTHERS
The Martin Brothers consist of the formidable duo of Justin and Christian Martin, two prolific producers in their own right. In 2008, The Martin Brothers produced one of the biggest dancefloor smashes of the year with 'Dum', found on the Rocket Surgery EP and and given a brilliant remix by Nat Self (here).  Laced with 808 bass and simple jackin' beats, the EP was a stripped back affair, but with a down and dirty sound nodding to Detroit. That distinctive jackin' sound - bouncy, colourful and refusing to take itself too seriously - has now come to define the Dirtybird label.

HANNE & LORE
Steffen Neuhaus and Stefan Helmke are Germany's Hanne & Lore, an upcoming duo with a distincitive brand of tech-house with a serious groove. With nine original releases already on the likes of Stylerockets and Still Cookin' Records, Hanne & Lore have been turning heads - and their recent bumpy remix of Andhim has been doing particular damage of late:
Andhim - Like a Wirsing (Hanne & Lore Remix)
MR HO
Room 2 will be hosted by Klasse Recordings. A staple of the up-and-coming label is Mr Ho, an interesting artist making laid back deep house tunes with a touch of the old school:
Donna McGhee - Make It Last Forever (Mr. Ho Edit) [pelski highly recommends]
What We Want (Original mix) by Mr.Ho
NAT SELF
One half of the ubiquitous Zombie Disco Squad. Nat Self's tasty solo productions have been popping up here and there over the last few years, he's put he's lent his remix hands to the likes of Adeline Supreme, Solo, Camel and The Martin Brothers.
Nat Self - War [pelski highly recommends]
Jeff Doubleu - African Drum Concert (Nat Self Remix) {128kbps}
Adline Supreme - Time For Me (Nat Self remix)
LUCA LOZANO
The other half of Zombie Disco Squad, Luca has also been putting out some interesting stuff. His recent release on Klasse, 'Heaven And Hell', a pumping tech-houser with a funky sample from the 20th Century Steel Band, has been getting support from all the right heads. Luca recently remixed both Solo and Johanna Knutsson and has plenty of material to follow...

JOHANNA KNUTSSON
Won over by the allure of house music, Johanna Knutsson promptly moved to Berlin from her native Sweden. She recently released Heavy baby on Klasse Recordings, a big, crashing house bomb. She's also put together a nice disco edit a Sinnamon classic up for download:
Sinnamon - Thanks To You (Johanna Knutsson Quick Fix Edit)
Johanna Knutsson - Heavy Baby (Original Mix)
JAMES CREED
James Creed will be prodiviing support in the second room. We'll be posting a very tasty mix from James in the coming days.
