Santigold – Disparate Youth

Four years after her fantastic debut blew my mind, Santigold is finally back!

Although she might haven’t been as productive with collaborating with the artists she supposed to in her downtime, her return is definitely a most awaited event. After working with legends Devo, Christina Aguilera and appeared on albums by Spank Rock, NASA and the Beastie Boys. Now she has changed her name from Santogold to Santigold, owing to her previous name’s “similarity to the science fiction film Santo Gold’s Blood Circus”.

It was only within the last month  that she made her announcement of her return official with her forthcoming Master of My Make-Believe album. Big Mouth, which was one of the early tracks from her new album was compared to being severely similar to M.I.A.’s old style.  This new track Disparate Youth is said the album’s first “proper” single and it’s an absolute favorite. Chill without being too dull and has the right beat with a new wave vibe and her trademark emotionless singing.

Master of My Make-Believe is out via Atlantic on 1 May. You can see the video below.
