Reports from Korea claim that the Galaxy S5 managed to set a new record for first day sales, beating its predecessor by over 30%!

According to Samsung, the sales of the S5 surpassed those of the S4 more than twice in some European countries. It would’ve sold even more, had the stock not been exhausted. In Paris, London and Amsterdam, people had gathered in front of the stores selling Samsung’s latest flagship model and waited (impatiently) to get their hands on the new smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 launched in 125 countries on Friday, which makes this launch the company’s biggest one to this day, and the smartphone should become available in 25 more markets in the next couple of days. The S5 costs around $699 in the US (SIM-free) and around $599 (roughly 430 euros) in most of Europe and Asia.
