Latest leaked images of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 have once and for all confirmed the end of an era to the two most important features in Samsung’s Note series.

Just like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge , the yet-to-be officially announced Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will not come with the microSD slot and the removable battery.

It’s now clear to everyone that Samsung isn’t afraid to ditch the features that helped propel the company to the top of the charts.

But following declining Galaxy S6 sales, will this strategy will work in the long term?

What to expect in Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Following the launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, we were hopeful the Galaxy Note 5 would provide an experience catered more to power users, but it seems as though the days of expandable storage and removable batteries are long gone.

Now the Galaxy Note 5 just seems like a really big device with a stylus – and nothing more – but at least it will looks great!

The alleged Galaxy Note 5 images within our disposal show off a device with a slightly curved back, and an S Pen in its usual position.

Based on information we have heard and the new images above, it sure looks like that S Pen will be ejectable; no more yanking it out with your fingernail. Other than that, the design looks pretty much in line with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge: metal sides, glass back, home button, etc.

Droid Life reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will only come with a 3,000mAh battery, which is a bit of a disappointment for such a big phone and the fact that it won’t be removable.

This means that users will need to rely on things like wireless charging and Quick Charge. As we reported earlier, other specs include an Exynos 7422 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage and a Quad HD display.

We are expecting the official announcement of the device on August 13.
