Salt Island, BVI

By Saltykisses @svprili
After The Baths we had a sunset cruise over to Salt Island for a safe non rolly anchorage. The next morning we took the kids over to explore. I really liked the island, a. because it wasn’t swarming with charter boats and people and b. because there were some abandon buildings on it. I just love to sticky beak around. I think the island has turned into a bit of a party destination because of the odd broken beer bottle. My friends told me there was until quite recently a family that lived on the island. There’s a big salt lake behind the buildings that the families would process the salt and sell it. I don’t know why there wasn’t any salt in the lake whether it’s because it was over processed or the soil changed. Maybe that’s why the residents are gone.
