Sabang is known as the entry point for the Underground River Tour. When we went to Palawan, we weren't able to book for the underground river tour. Since Sabang is part of our itinerary, we decided to push through with our plan. We love to explore new places, and I think Sabang is still worth our visit. I wasn't wrong about this. People might not know this, but there are a lot of things you can do in this small town besides going on an Underground River Tour. One of these is the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour.
The Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour offers an educational tour by boat into Sabang's mangrove forest. The tour last an hour. It will only take 15-minute hike from Sabang port to the starting point of the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour.
After paying the MPBT fee of Php200, you will be provided with a life vest, and will be boarded on a canoe that has a capacity of 6 people. Each canoe has a guide that will educate you about mangroves, and a paddler that will paddle you throughout the tour. All you need to do is to sit back, relax, and learn. And by the way, don't forget to read the reminders before boarding.
Lately, they have added the 100-meter Mangrove Boardwalk on their MPBT. On our way back to the MPBT starting point, our paddler, and the guide, drop us off on this boardwalk, while they went hunting for tamilok. I mentioned to them that I wanted to try this famous local food, and they happily volunteered to look for a fresh tamilok for us. Read all about my tamilok experience here.
They said the best time to do the tour is in the morning, where most of the animals are out in the open. We take the tour in the morning which blessed us with the opportunity of seeing a few snakes, birds, and other creature which I forgot the name. :D
