Rosy and the Chicks

Rosy and the Chicks
Whereas until recently Rosy would dash over into Chicken World every morning with me just to get into the shed, to stand staring at the gap in the floorboards, looking for the rat we know is living under there,  now she dashes over and waits expectantly at the little Broody House.
It seems she wants to say good morning to the chicks .... every day!!
Mother Goose is none too keen on this giant furry creature licking her chicks but she gives Rosy a minute or two before shouting at her little charges to stop this ridiculousness and come and eat their breakfast.
Rosy and the Chicks
Other non-family little creatures do not get the same welcome.  This picture, one I took to show progress on the road at the side of the polytunnel also shows Rosy guarding her latest little al fresco meal.  A rabbit caught by Ginger the cat and finished off by Rosy, which made the second course of her breakfast this morning.
So if you don't want Rosy to eat you and you are smaller than her ..... you just have to be family.
