Romantic Things to Do at Night in Singapore

By Dinesh Singh @travellerpath

When you think of Singapore, the first thing that comes to mind is the cleanliness of its roads. Some in the travel circle say that the country was rubbed all over with Surf Excels and Harper Collins, but we don’t think that’s true  :/

But while it is good to have a squeaky-clean city for a romantic outing, this destination gives us many other reasons to push the young honeymooners for one of the Singapore holiday packages on the web.

Romance usually begins post-twilight, with the entire ambience eerily and utterly kindled by neon lights. One of the top things to do at night is to be at Marina Bay. Here, you can indulge. A number of big-time attractions will call out to you and will even delight you, albeit at some good expense. The ritzy hotel called Marina Bay Stands stands out from the crowd. It is the signature Singapore landmark, one which seems to nearly hug the sky and sets up a deliciously romantic supper/dinner for the two of you. Its SkyPark located atop the hotel is one of the most amazing engineering marvels of the world. With stars and clouds as your company, just sitting here is bliss. But then we can’t ignore the view (yes, the VIEW)!

Down the corner, you will find another signature landmark called Singapore Flyer. Remember those merry-go-rounds you would yearn to hop on and be scared at the same time? This one will beat all such merry-go-rounds hands on. One of the world’s largest flyers, this structure gives you a 30-minute non-stop spin and promises an unforgettable 360-degre view of the skyline and the country’s far-laden horizon. If holding hands for the whole of 30 minutes on this pulsating, beautiful and frightening journey is not romantic, then romance simply does not exist!

For another brush with the sky, you can head to Mount Faber where the cable cars will help you zip down the hills and ogle at sunset. The scenic view can prove to be the most opportune time to exchange love vows.

Little India is another recommended corner for young and sassy Indian lovers. Know all other interesting facts about Singapore which you probably didn’t know about Singapore. This corner, devoted to Indian tourists, has good shops and lip-smacking eateries. An evening at this corner will be a perfect end to a day of sightseeing. The variety which this place provides makes it a romantic site.

Of course, there are numerous other parks, restaurants and landmarks where romance will just be a hug away (or may be a kiss, but sssshhh….this isn’t America, so let’s just censor the mushy part).
