Sunday afernoon at WayHome gave us some awesome rock and roll CanCon to soak in while the sun beat down on our backs as Sloan and The Sheepdogs both took turns on the main stage.

Sloan!

Sloan kicked off the main stage action on Sunday, and the veteren Halifax rockers didn’t disappoint.

It was a hot and sunny 1:30pm set, and as the fans took their places near the stage and across the lawn, the band pumped out old favourites and newer tracks that had people singing and cheering.

Part way through the set the band announced that 2016 will include a One Chord To Another 20th anniversary tour and that drew a big pop from the crowd and was immediately followed by The Good In Everyone which had people up and dancing to go along with their cheers.

Sloan’s Sunday set also included… If It Feels Good Do It, Delivering Maybes, The Rest Of My Life, Losing California, and more.

And while the band as aged… it’s been 23 years since their debut… it was still a treat to see Sloan start the day.

The Sheepdogs!

A little later Sunday afternoon, with the sun still pounding down and the temperature at its peak, Saskatoon rockers The Sheepdogs took the main stage and put on a little show of their own.

Fans made their way to the stage to sing and dance, and some stayed on the lawn to sit and lay down and soak in the music with the sun. It was a good combo and created a nice, lazy Sunday afternoon atmosphere that worked well with the old fashioned guitar rock on stage.

There was a surprising amount of dancing during the set for how hot it was, including an awesome girl who worked her hula hoop like a champ. Check the video right here. Trust.

Also, hat tip to the boys for playing a cover of Neil Young’s Southern Man… it was a nice tribute, and didn’t make Neil’s playlist for no harm done.

The Sheepdogs set also included How Late, How LongThe One You Belong ToThe Way It IsFeeling GoodGonna Be Myself – and it wrapped up with I Don’t Know.

Well done boys.
