Honesty bars might just be the thing for you.
The idea is simple: help yourself to whatever you want from the bar and make a note of it when you’ve finished.
Although previously only seen in smaller scale guest houses, Honesty Bars are fast spreading to more up-market boutique hotels, with some of the most luxurious venues in the country catching on to the growing trend.
The Michelin starred Club Hotel & Spa in Jersey has launched an Honesty Bar for guests, who can help themselves to the fully stocked bar, whilst enjoying complimentary books from the Hotel’s private library. The Club Hotel’s General Manager Tim says he trusts his guests to be truthful about what they consume and having an honesty bar develops a sense of trust between the hotel and its guests.
Other luxurious Hotels with an honesty bars include The Pelham in London, where guests can enjoy champagne and a selection of canapés in front of an open fire.
At the Pendragon Country House in Cornwall, the honesty bar is stocked with local Cornish wines and ales so that guests can feel truly at home in the area.
Glangrwyney Court Country House, a five star country house Estate in Wales is home to an Honesty Bar, as is the luxurious Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh.
