My Take on Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector:

Revlon Photoready BB Cream comes in a sleek silver tube with a black screw cap. The nozzle of the tube is just accurate to dispense the right amount of the product upon squeezing the tube and it makes sure no excess quantity gets out of the tube on pressing it. The tube is very light to carry around in your makeup bag and won’t reserve much space.

The texture of this BB cream is slightly thick but soft enough to spread easily, it needs a little soft strokes and it gets blended easily. It gives a sheer coverage and is unable to hide any blemishes, dark circles, redness and dark marks so you will definitely need a concealer with this BB cream if you have too much problem areas to hide. It feels very light on skin and does not feel cakey or heavy nor does it leave any white caste like the Loreal BB cream which is a bit hard to blend properly and leaves a white caste for the first 20 minutes before it properly settles into skin.

The shade I got is light/medium and it’s a good match for my fair skin. I don’t like that it does not brighten the complexion or gives it any glow and just sets as a normal cream giving a sheer coverage. I usually apply this cream without moisturizing my skin as I’m always in a hurry for my college and I feel it goes on smoothly while moisturizing the skin, it leaves my skin dewy/soft and I really don’t feel the need to moisturize prior to applying this BB cream. It does not either make skin greasy or oily, just gives a perfect dewy glow. For those who have extra dry skin, I feel that you have to moisturize your skin before applying this cream though it moisturizes pretty good but it can be a bit dry for extra dry skin and may look rough if your base is not well moisturized so you definitely need a moisturizer before applying this cream, this comes from two situations when my skin was feeling moderately dry then I didn’t need a moisturizer under it and when my skin was feeling extremely dry then I felt that I needed to moisturize or else my skin looks rough. It comes with SPF 30 which is an added bonus and when you are in a hurry you can definitely skip your sunscreen without fearing that you don’t have any SPF protection on your skin but on the days when you are not in a hurry, I totally recommend you not to skip your sunscreen as the SPF you get from your makeup is not sufficient enough to protect you from the harmful UVA and UVB rays.

The coverage it gives is less or very sheer as compared to the Lakme CC cream or the Loreal BB cream and you may not like it if you love the medium/heavy coverage look and are expecting this cream to hide all your imperfections. This just leaves a layer of very sheer coverage while moisturizing your skin. For those who have oily skin, I’m not sure but it may make your skin oily in a few hours because of the thick smooth texture so you check out other reviews as well before buying this cream.

What I Like about Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector:

  1. Sturdy, travel friendly packaging.
  2. Does not feel heavy or cakey.
  3. Comes with SPF 30
  4. Doesn’t leave a white caste because of the SPF.
  5. Spreads and blends easily.
  6. Thick soft texture which melts on application and goes on smoothly.
  7. Shades are made keeping the Indian skin tone in mind, 3 shades are available.
  8. Hydrates well.
  9. Easily available.

What I Didn’t Like about Revlon Photoready BB Cream Skin Perfector:

  1. Gives sheer coverage.
  2. Does not cover any imperfections.
  3. Extra dry skin will need to hydrate first before using this as it can look rough upon application if your skin is not well hydrated.
  4. May not suit oily skin because of the thick creamy texture.
  5. Does not brighten the complexion like any BB cream should brighten.

BML Rating: 3.5/5

Final Thoughts:

It’s an average BB cream that gives a very sheer coverage so if you are looking for a daily wear makeup that gives you very light coverage and does not feel heavy then you will most probably like it and if you like only medium/heavy coverage then you may not like it! It’s basically for those who don’t have any imperfection on their face and for those who have blemishes, dark circles and other problematic areas, it’s not for you!!
