Review:Weekend Box

By Smilinglikesunshine @smilinglikesuns
A couple of weeks ago we received a craft box to review: The Weekend Box . Albeit being small enough to fit through the letter box, it was packed full of engaging activities. The idea behind the Weekend Box is that they put together activities with all the materials needed in a box delivered to your door so you get to enjoy spending time with your child.

The theme of our box was Aztecs. Here is what was inside the box.

I really like that each activity was color coded in envelopes. Here is a picture of the instructions, again color coded.

The weekend Box is aimed at children between the ages of 3-6. However my eight year old daughter Defne was learning about South America when this box arrived so she really enjoyed the activities. There were three activities to do and one healthy snack to prepare. As she is older, she didn't much help from me to do the activities but I can imagine that a younger child would need some support.
Here is Defne preparing the Aztec prints:

I liked the activities as they were engaging and consolidating Defne's learning at school. Everything needed for the particular craft comes in the box. So you don't have to worry whether or not you have any glue or pipe cleaner in the craft cupboard. I also like that everything is packed neatly. So you could also the box or a few activity envelope with you when you are going to grandma's house on the weekend or even on holiday. The Weekend Box is a subscription service that you can get monthly and fortnightly. You can read more about the rates and the subscription service here.
