Review/Swatches: Cle De Peau UV Protective Cream Tinted – 4 Shades

By Beautifulbuns

Whether you call them sunblocks, sunscreens or suncreams, these products have usually been associated with being a need, a functional everyday-type of product. For lazy bum arses like me, these can sometimes become an item that I apply by default, kinda like with zombie-like precision, I reach for the tube/bottle, fumble with the cap, slap some onto the skin and attempt to blend it in with (water-swollen) fat fingers. However, with Cle De Peau’s new UV Protective Cream Tinted, it actually becomes a much more luxurious experience!

I say…

The Packaging: A slim tube with a gold cap. There’s a little extra (because this is a luxury brand afterall) in the form of a little mesh bag that encases the tube.

The Scent: A lovely floral scent (yay for none of that typical sunblock zinc oxide scent!).

The Texture: Right, so here’s where you SGD$120 comes into play – you pay for what you get. This cream is thicker than your normal everyday sunblock, but doesn’t weigh heavily on the skin. It spreads smoothly over the skin (glides even!), blending in easily to leave a velvety-matte finish AND smoothing out your skin’s texture in the process. Did I mention that it has a relatively high coverage that covers most major blemishes? Severe cases of dark eye circles will still require some concealer though.

The Verdict: A prime example of paying for what you get – this is a luxury worth investing in. Not only does it come with high sun protection factor (SPF50+, PA++++), it also does double duty by functioning as a makeup base (or even a light-coverage foundation for those blemish-free or light makeup days). The texture itself makes for such an enjoyable application process, and the final finish (smoothened skin, brightened skintone) is enough for me to say “take all my monehhhh”. Oh yes, other makeup such as foundations, bb cushions, blushers and highlighters sit very properly on top of it too. I say splurge on yourself for once, and go get this – it comes in 4 shades, which means no pasty chalky white tinges. 😀
