Review/Swatch: Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Pop Collectors Edition

By Beautifulbuns

Now that my beauty storage revamp is underway, I find that I’m more organised and on the ball – hell yeah, bring on the barrage of (long overdue) reviews! Well, this one isn’t overdue though – I attended Sephora’s Press Day a week ago, and this is one of the upcoming (current?) launches that I’m pretty sexcited about.

I say…

The Packaging: A round compact that measures 8cm in diameter with a click-shut closure. There’s an inbuilt mirror but it doesn’t come with any brush/applicator. The embossed champagne design with the bubbles are just really appealing (if it wasn’t obvious enough heh).

The Scent: Nil.

The Texture: Very finely milled powder grains that don’t go up in a dust cloud -the fallout is really minimal, if not negligible.

The Verdict: I love this! Now I usually avoid gold-toned highlighters (and usually opt for the pearly pink, halo-sheened types) because of my yellow undertones. However, this one is a soft gold tone with rosy peach hues so that it’s really flattering, adding a touch of rosy radiance to the glow. The gold isn’t all that obvious – as its name says, it’s more of a champagne tone that is universally flattering to both those with yellow and red undertones. I love that it gives a really subtle glow to the skin (I say nope to disco ball shine) on the nose bridge and the cheekbones. But hey, of course the cherry topper is the design – this is a collectors’ edition, so get it quick while it lastsssss (Sephora SG).
