I am a big fan of organic products mainly oils. In my collection, I tried to keep different types organic products like creams, shampoos, conditioners, hair and skin oils and essential oils. A few months ago, I bought Pure and Sure Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil from an online site. That was my first ever cold pressed oil. This coconut oil is pure, unrefined, and cold pressed. Nowadays we are very familiar with these words pure, unrefined and cold pressed or extra. There was a time when coconut oil means that was easily available in the market and also in everyone's house. But now, different types of coconut oils are available in the market. As for instance, virgin coconut oil, which derived from the oil from, dried coconut. It is a most natural state. My Experience:
Coconut oil is a wonderful multipurpose natural product and I use it for so many different purposes. But I do not use coconut oil for cooking. I love to use coconut oil as a moisturizer for skin and hair.
Pure and Sure Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil comes in a plastic bottle with a screw cap and there is a nozzle attached to the bottle which helps to control the amount of oil to dispense. The packaging is absolutely travel-friendly. No scope for wastage.
The oil is not totally transparent. It is very light-weight, and it has no artificial perfumes and colorants. Once you apply the oil you immediately notice the smell. The texture of the oil is smooth. The consistency of the oil is runny, just like other regular coconut oils.
The Application:
Coconut oil contains a huge amount of vitamins and minerals - including Choline, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Iron, Stearic and Lauric Acid - which help to nourish the body both inside and out.
This coconut oil is not greasy and it gets absorbed into the skin very quickly without any oily or sticky feelings. It can be used as a daily moisturizer too by rubbing a little amount of oil into the skin just after finish your shower. I pour some oil on my palms and gently massage it into my skin. It spreads well on the skin and immediately leaving a nice shine on skin.
However, more I like to use coconut oil on my dry hair. I have drier, little wavy medium length hair that tends to tangle very easily. Just a few drops of coconut oil can make my hair more manageable and keep hair moisturized, and it gives it a healthy shine too.
How I apply the Coconut oil for Hair:
– I take about 3 to 4 tablespoons of coconut oil in a bowl and heat it for about 15 seconds. The amount of oil required depends on the length of your hair.
– Then dip my fingers into the oil and then massage my scalp.
– Once I've evenly applied and massaged the oil all over my scalp, then I apply the oil to the rest of my hair. I pay more attention to the roots and my dry ends.
– Then wrap a hot towel around my head and leave it on for about 30-45 minutes. Sometimes I don’t follow this step and just leave the oil on for about 1-2 hours before washing my hair. Instead of a hot towel, even a shower cap will work to help keep the heat in.
– I usually have to wash my hair with shampoo twice to get all the oil off; after which I only apply conditioner to the ends of my hair. You will notice that your hair doesn't really need much conditioner after a good hot oil massage.
–Let my hair dry naturally.
How I apply the Coconut oil for Skin:
Coconut oil can be used as an excellent natural skin moisturizer. The best time to apply coconut oil is right after a bath or shower, to lock moisture into your skin.
As a makeup remover, it works wonder on my skin, which is particularly good for getting rid of stubborn mascara. Some time I directly apply coconut oil on my face, focusing on under my eyes as it’s a great anti-wrinkle solution. I leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse off and pat dry.
Coconut oil is a great alternative to your usual balm or petroleum jelly, the oil provides a glossy shine while helping to repair chapped lips. Gentle massage few drops of coconut oil on your lip, it will be soft, nourished and hydrated.
Coconut oil has so many advantages and is definitely a must-have for the hair, face, and body. I will share with you some more uses of coconut oil in a separate post.

It keeps my hair shiny and soft. This definitely stops hair breakage and dandruff of the scalp. It also gives my skin a really smooth feel and makes it well hydrated. My skin as well is really soft & shiny but no oily at all.
