Most of the time kids’ music is created for enjoyment. Other music is written to teach something about language, math, science, or life in general. But what about music that teaches about music yet is enjoyable?
Groove Kids Nation focuses on music education while keeping the music fun and entertaining. In fact, their CD Rhythm Bears is a series of interactive lessons designed to teach kids about rhythm with fun songs that encourage kids to clap, stomp, or sing to the beat. While teaching about rhythm, the songs also teach kids about instruments they may otherwise be unfamiliar with: harmonica, fiddle, clarinet, kalimba, ukulele, didgeridoo and more. The colorful booklet that comes with the CD illustrates these instruments.

As parents who appreciate music (I can play the piano and sing and my husband plays the drums), we want our kids to have the same appreciation for music as we do. Having a CD like Rhythm Bears helps to pass along that appreciation for music by providing fun music lessons without making them seem like lessons. The CD is full of songs like The Why Song, Teddy Bear Picnic, I Do but I Don't, and Virtue of the Small that we don’t mind listening to (unlike some other kids’ music!).

The CD is great for times when you need to keep the kids distracted at home or to bring along in the car for long rides. It keeps the kids busy by keeping them engaged and entertained with the fun songs and catchy tunes.
Groove Kids Nation Rhythm Bears can be found at www.groovekidnation.com along with the other CDs in the music education series.
