In case you haven’t heard – Mamonde is officially in Singapore! Well, almost – it’s currently being sold exclusively online at Lazada, with plans for a counter in the mid of the year, followed by its own store after that. Now although Mamonde is more known for its skincare (backed by something they call Flower Science aka their ingredients are derived from our floral friends), their makeup items aren’t too bad either. I’ve tried out their blusher, highlighter, CC cream and BB cushion previously, and now, tis time to move on to the lippie products.

I say…
The Packaging: A simple tube measuring about 9.3cm long x 1.5cm in diameter. The sponge tip applicator attached to the cap is soft, pliable and tapered, so you will get a more precise and non-abrasive application.
The Scent: There’s a sweet but mild scent from the product – like its brand name, it’s very feminine and gentle (aka nothing too musky nor acrid). You can only smell it if you intentionally put your nose up to the tube or applicator though.
The Texture/Finish: It glides very smoothly and easily over the lips, and I must say I’m rather impressed with the pigmentation. The name says “tint”, so I was expecting something that required at least 2 coats for some color to show, but just one coat is all you need to get bright poppy lip colours. Yayness! The finish is one of semi-matte – there’s some shine to it, but it’s a subtle soft glow, and eventually settles into a slightly matte finish over time.
The Verdict: The color is strong, vibrant, and relatively long-staying. Upon initial application, the lips feel slightly hydrated, and fine lines are filled in – a pretty decent feat for a lip tint (usually it’s the creamier lipsticks that do a better job of filling in the fine lines). Over an extended period of time (say 3-5 hours), the tint slowly fades. If you’ve got slightly drier lips like I do, you’ll find that the flakey bits will resurface, but with a tint. I usually deal with this by wiping a dry sheet of tissue over – it somehow will help remove the flakes, leaving your lips with 90% natural original colour, and 10% of tint (usually in the fine lines). Overall, a pretty decent lip tint product with surprisingly strong pigments.
