REVIEW La Roche-Posay Purifying Foaming Gel (+ SEUNENOUGH blog) La Roche-Posay EFFACLAR Purifying Foaming Gel for Oily Sensitive Skin ($27 CAD, 200 mL)
I HAVE FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL CLEANSER AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 20. It is the best cleanser I have ever used, and if you have oily sensitive skin, definitely ask for a sample at Shopper's or Sephora and try it out! You never know.
Okay, getting to the good stuff: - it's paraben-free - it has a pH level of 5.5 (the skin's natural pH level!) - it's soap-free, alcohol-free, and colourant-free (thus, non-irritating) - it's oil-free - contains zinc to remove oil and purify skin
The cleanser targets my oily areas, and although it doesn't have any fancy acne-killing ingredients, it has cleared my acne quite well! I use it twice a day, no more than that because whenever I overwash my face I break out (I have sensitive skin). To be honest, using a gentle facial cleanser 2x a day can be the ultimate step in clearing acne. Cosmetics contain too many chemicals and unnecessary ingredients, and the less a product has, the better it will be on your precious skin!
Though it is slightly expensive -- I used to buy $8 face washes -- this product has been doing so much good and lasting quite a long time. I don't think I'll run out until Christmas. So yeah, I'd spend $30/year to make my skin happy.
OVERALL RATING ★★★★★ (5/5)
