Review: Karen’s Body Beautiful Creamylicious

By Savvybrown @savvybrownblog

I live in Brooklyn, NY so I when I get the time I love dropping by Karen’s Body Beautiful. I’ve been lucky enough a couple of times to actually see Karen, (apron and all) mixing up a batch of her wonderful products. A couple of weeks ago I dropped by and picked up a sample size of Creamylicious and decided to share the results.

Karen’s Body Beautiful Creamylicious $8.00 (1oz)/$18.00(7oz)

Review: Karen’s Body Beautiful Creamylicious

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Rosehip Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils, Vitamin E & Carrot Seed Oil

I love the fact that this product has all recognizable ingredients. It has a thick, creamy, cake-batter-like consistency, which at first I thought might not be moisturizing enough, but when I rubbed it between my fingers I could really feel the emollience of the shea butter and the oils in the product. (It reminds me a bit of Bee Mine Bee Hold, but with more oils in it.) I washed and detangled my hair, towel dried it and then used this product to make medium sized two-strand twists all over my damp hair using clear castor oil to seal the tips. The fragrance I picked was Coco Lime and it smelled like a lime fruit tart. Yum! I was really surprised, but the little 1oz sample did my whole head. (It costs $8.00) A little goes a long way. I believe that this product is good for all 4a,4b,4c hair types. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if your curls are 3C either. (For more info about hair typing, click here). As usual, I left them in a couple days before wearing my new favorite style: I untwist the twists carefully, but don’t fluff or separate, then style. (My hair is now long enough to do this and I think it  looks pretty good). Whaddya think?

The twists came out soft, defined and shiny! I never really thought about shine, but the oils really made my hair sleek looking.

RATING: 4 Smart! – Good product, very moisturizing, grod ingredients and a little goes a long way. (The only reason this product didn’t get a 5 is because of the price.)

Savvy Ratings: 5=Savvy 4=Smart 3=Suitable 2=Satisfactory 1=Stupid
