One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.”

review

Although I did not love Insurgent as much as Divergent, I think it is a great sequel! I love how it is still filled with action, and the character development was awesome. There are new characters in this book, and I love how we got to know them really well. Tris and Four really changed in this book due to their situations. I kind of did not like Four/Tobias in this book because he often did not trust Tris.

What I also liked about Insurgent is that we get to visit the different factions, and meet the citizens of these factions. I thought it was pretty cool how I was able to compare and contrast the way these people thought (since, you know, they live in different factions). The way each faction thought was pretty interesting.

The romance was all right. I thought the story was focused more on the action than the romance which is more than fine for me. Overall it was a great read although I have some unanswered questions that hopefully Allegiant (the final book of the trilogy) will answer.
