Review: Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte #11 Berry Bubble

By Herugliness
Hello! ~ I already tried two shades from the Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte nail color line, but I never liked them much. Milkyway Purple had looked brown on the official product photos but turned out to be an unflattering dark purple and Ceylon Tea Beige looked weirdly flesh-colored on my nails. But since I like the idea of matte nails very much I bought another one when Etude House released more shades I think sometime last year. The one I got this time was #11 Berry Bubble, a beautiful lavender shade, which is the one I will review today.Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte 11 Berry Bubble ReviewEtude House Petit Darling Nails Matte 11 Berry Bubble ReviewJust like the others this one comes in a 7g frosted glass bottle. Nothing too fancy, but still nice to look at. I really love this shade, but I find this nail color really extremely hard to apply on my nails. When you apply the nail color it is shine, but turns matte within seconds. This is tricky, because it gives you the illusion that the nail color had already tried, which it hasn't. Still the time it takes to finally dry for real isn't too long, which I always find pleasant. The big problem with the Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matt nail color is that it is almost impossible to apply without streaks and without seeing the texture of your nails through. Every single imperfection in your nails will become visible. It gets a bit better when you apply a second layer over it, but for the coverage you would not need a second layer as the color is already giving you full coverage with just one single layer.Etude House Petit Darling Nails Matte 11 Berry Bubble ReviewEtude House Petit Darling Nails Matte 11 Berry Bubble ReviewYou can even see the streaks on the nail wheel above, so imagine how difficult it is to apply this nail color on a surface that isn't plastic and therefore completely smooth.Maybe you won't have this problem if you have fake nails, but with real nails this is really a fight.Sadly the color also doesn't last too long, especially the second layer makes part splinter of faster and, most of all, after 2 days the matte finish starts to turn shiney again. I once applied this nail color and took a bath on the same day. The nail color survived on my nails, but the bath had turned it shiny instantly.I really love the shade and the matte finish, but considering how it is almost impossible to apply so it looks good on your nails using a nail color with a similar shade and applying a matte topcoat over it might be a better idea. I do not have plans to purchase any more nail color from this line and also cannot recommend it to anyone.
