BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY...
THEY GET EVEN.

Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.

Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay.

Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him.

Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste.
Lillia is best friends with Rennie, who rules the school. Lillia has everything a girl would want: a nice house, lots of money, and a group of good friends. This past summer, a guy took things too far with her and now she puts up a wall with other guys. Lillian doesn't want her little sister hurt either, so she plays the protective big sister and when she sees her with her other friend Alex, she wants revenge. Kat used to be friends with Rennie and Lillia until Rennie pulled a move and brought Kat from best friends to worst enemy. After some events at school, Kat wants revenge on Rennie. While she's at it, she wouldn't mind getting revenge on Alex who ditched her after a fling this summer. Lastly, Mary just returned back to town with a fresh new body and mind. She wants Reeve to see her - the boy that tormented her as a kid. Reeve happens to be dating Rennie, and the three girls join together to get revenge on the people who deserve it.

I really loved Jenny Han's Summer series, like any other book blogger! I loved the richness of the characters and deep plot. I've only read The List by Siobhan Vivian, and I liked how that had many point of views, and dramatic issues. This novel actually had many similar qualities! I honestly found myself pulled right into this one, and didn't have much trouble distinguishing the characters and their reasons for revenge.

Like in The List, it had multiple points of views, ranging between Lillia, Kat, and Mary. Their stories were very interesting, but I feel like I respected Lillia and Kat the most. Mary's story didn't do much for me, and she seemed to innocent and quiet to have any concept in the revenge. She was simply awkward. It's the best way to put it. She was just an awkward part of the story for me. Lillia and Kat, on the other hand, shone brightly as they had significant reasons for revenge. I loved Kat's sarcasm and sass, and Lillia's hidden agenda's and ability to think for herself.

I really hope this novel sticks to being a contemporary. Under Goodreads it is categorized sometimes as a paranormal because some of the things that Mary does. I really hope they don't dig deeper into that stuff and just let it be a coincidence. We've had enough paranormal novels and I was just hoping for a book like Pretty Little Liars or ABC's Revenge. Come on, really?

Burn for Burn was overall a pretty good book! It was quick-paced, intriguing, and had some fun dialog and scenes. The way the novel was written was well, but it didn't have a wow-factor for me. Looking back at it, there were some parts where things could have been spiced up and some characters could have been given some traits that made them more interesting. Truthfully, I can't wait for the sequel, Fire with Fire
