I've suffered from eczema and very dry skin all my life. I've used various creams from the doctors that have worked okay, but they're never had a wow factor and they usually smell pretty disgusting. I was recommended the Body Shops hemp range by a lady that I work with so I decided to give it a try. First of all I tried the hand wash and hand cream which both worked amazingly. So for Christmas I received the hemp gift set which I absolutely love!
There's 4 full size products in the set that are all from the hemp range. For those of you that don't know hemp is a term used for varieties of the cannabis plant. Hemp is a product of the cannabis plant and can be refined into many things such as oil and seed. It's a really deeply nourishing ingredient which works amazingly on dry skin.
The products all have the same benefits so rather than review each individually, I've decided to review the range as a whole. All of the products have a rich and nourishing consistency, so as my skin is suffering due to the cold weather, these products have been a miracle. They instantly sink into the skin leaving no oily residue on the surface. They're very kind to sensitive skin and cause no irritation at all.
I'd say my favorite product is the body butter as it's so thick and nourishing. I usually apply it to really dry areas such as my knees and elbows, as I find it can be a bit too much for all over my body.
The only negative thing I have to say about the range is the smell, I thought it might grow on me over time but it hasn't. I can't really explain it but it smells quite earthy and plant like, which is good I guess because it's a reminder of the natural ingredient, but it doesn't give the product a completely luxurious feel. But due to the benefits of each product, the smell is something that I can live with.
I'd really recommend this to anybody with dry skin, particularly if you've been thrown from pillar to post with creams from the doctors as this is better than any I've used.
