Weddings are interesting affairs and it’s very easy to find yourself doing something very weddingy without necessarily realising it.
This photo is my most commented on photo by brides and grooms who visit me to look at albums. Everyone says it speaks about what weddings are like. This guy has clearly been given a number of jobs – get the drinks by one person and get the basket of confetti by someone else.. and he was determined not to let anyone down!
This photo is a reportage photograph. Reportage (or documentary) photography is about story telling – being able to say something about what happened in pictures. Good story telling will contain some context to give you a clear idea of what’s going on. A good documentary wedding photographer has to have powers of premonition in order to catch things that are about to happen, which is where the best photography comes from.
I an a documentary wedding photographer but I also focus on the beauty of the day so you get a chance to see both sides of your wedding when you look through your wedding photographs.
