A new gTLD IDN .网络 which means network in Chinese (xn--io0a7i) registered and reserved over 23,500 domain names yesterday increasing the overall number of new gTLD registered to 1.96 million according to ntldstats.com.
The registry of the IDN new gTLD is Computer Network Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences （China Internet Network Information Center)

The extension which seems to either be in landrush or has wrapped up its landrush has just under 25,000 domain name registrations making it the 13th most registered new gTLD.
The only other registrar listed for the extension is “asf” which has about 1,448 registrations.
The extension has a parked percentage of registrations of 99.95% according to ntldstats.com
I guess we will have to add an asterisk to this extensions numbers.
Lets also not forget about .voting, in which a company associated with the registry registered 10,200 of the 10,441 domains registered.
North Sound Names which is associated with Uniregistry has registered over 43,000 domain names.
Finally we have the over 375,000 .XYZ domains giving away at Network Solutions and around 70,000 of free domain names given away by .Berlin.
