Red Hot, Red Carpet Fashion!

By Jewelrygal @1928jewelry

The Academy Awards are considered the biggest awards show of the year which gives us the red carpet of all red carpets. Other awards shows like the Golden Globes and SAG Awards all lead up to the drama and excitement we can expect from the Oscars. And this year was no exception! Beautiful celebrities were dressed in stunning looks from head to toe! While we still promise to bring a red carpet re-cap in our next Fab Find Friday post, I think we should first take note at the red hot fashion that was all over the red carpet!

The daring color had a huge impact on many Spring 2011 runways and I think it is a Hollywood glamour classic color! The celebrities who chose to wear the color all chose a hue of red that was appropriate for their skin and hair coloring and I don’t think there was a single dress that didn’t scream “red hot”— they were all fantastic! Take a look at how these stunning stars put their own twist on red and the many different looks you can create this spring season with red!

Anne Hathaway was the hostess with the most-ess and she made quite the entrance on Sunday night! Anne used her classic charm and beauty and played it up with a vintage Valentino Haute Couture dress. It had just the right amount of glamour and oomph for this A-list celeb to arrive on the red carpet and offered variety from the other looks she wore during the show. One of my personal favorites for best dressed of the night!

Another leading lady, Sandra Bullock, graced the red carpet in a Vera Wang gown that was structured and simple, yet perfect for Sandra. I found her look to be very well suited for a presenter, not over the top or too dramatic, but just right.

Nominee Jennifer Lawrence took on minimalism with a custom made gown from Calvin Klein Collection. The tone of red compliments her skin tone and the dress itself hits her in all the right places! Her minimal jewelry, loose hairstyle and simple clutch were right on trend with the style and cut of the dress.

One of my favorite red hot looks from this past Sunday’s awards was on Rhea Durham, American model and wife of Mark Wahlberg. The Naeem Khan gown looked like separates—a skin tone top decorated with metallic flowers, and a draped red skirt—which was unique and fun to see amidst all of the gowns and tuxedos.

penelope cruz 184x300Red Hot, Red Carpet Fashion!
Penelope Cruz looked smoking hot in her L’Wren Scott gown that showed off her infamous curves. Penelope went for a darker red tone to compliment her gorgeous dark locks!

There was also a pop up of red at various Oscar after parties. Selena Gomez looked age appropriate with a twist of Dolce & Gabbana’s Italian sex appeal, and made sure her new beau Justin Bieber matched the red trend as well.

What did you think of all the red hot, red carpet looks? Who had your favorite dress of the night?
