This week's Real Food Meal plan includes an easy baked egg dish, butter chicken curry, fish pie, oven-baked spaghetti bolognaise & a cheesy soup. Real Food Meal Plan – Week 17 2016

We are eating a lot of family favourites of late. They are easy to make, and are well received at the dinner table. This hasn't stopped me experimenting though, which has resulted in some interesting, and delicious, meals. And despite constantly dipping into the freezer, it is still full, so there is still no freezer cooking happening in my kitchen.

This week we ate:

Sunday

Baked eggs with bacon & broccoli. Served with homemade sourdough toast.

An ideal meal for Sunday night dinner. And light enough that dessert can be justified. Keep an eye out for this recipe, coming soon, as it was a cracker!

Monday

Quick Fish Pie, served with a simple green salad.

This fish pie is so easy to pull together, relying on creme fraiche for the sauce rather than a bechamel. With three vegetables in the pie, it only needs a simple salad to complete the meal.

Tuesday

Kinda Spaghetti Bolognaise from Jamie Oliver's Happy Days with the Naked Chef.

The Princess informed me that she doesn't like spaghetti, as she finds it too difficult to eat. Fine by me; the leftovers kept Mr Grumpy and I in lunches for a few days.

Wednesday

Canadian Cheese Soup, served with homemade sourdough bread

When Mr Grumpy first requested this, I thought he was joking. Turns out it is a real soup; creamy vegetables with lashings of cheese.

Thursday

Butter Chicken, served with brown rice.

I'll admit, I cheated here. I used a pre-made paste from Turban Chopsticks for this curry. And the pressure cooker. The brown rice took longer to cook than the curry itself.

Bon Appetit!
