Since I’ve reached to England, I feel as if I’m constantly doing laundry – is it possible that this is all I have to do?

It’s so frustrating – not the fact that I am washing, but the fact that, unlike the apartment in Toronto, I cannot really dry my clothing here.  I now have a front load washer/dryer in one, and it takes forever to dry – and if I choose to use it to dry, it just sorta steams the clothing so I get this hot, steamy, damp result…so I have to hang dry EVERYTHING.  You lingerie enthusiasts who know I treat my lingerie roughly may be happy to hear that!  Just joking – I always hang my lingerie.

I’ve heard that when you have a baby, your laundry increases exponentially, so I’ve been trying to find ways to speed up my washing day(s) so t hat if/when a baby is eventually conceived, I won’t be standing in front of the laundry machine trying to urge it on to be faster or standing by my laundry blowing on it in an attempt to speed up the drying.  I think that I’ll be using the drying cupboard a lot more if a baby comes.  The drying cupboard, for those of you who are not familiar with the concept, is the cupboard with the boiler.  The boiler dries the air out in the cupboard, so it is a perfect place to ensure that your clothes get fully dry throughout to avoid chest colds etc. from the lovely, damp English air.

I do however, have this big empty space next to my laundry machine, under the counter….that could probably fit a second machine – would that help speed things up?  The only problem would be that my living room will become a grid of laundry, simply drying.  So much for trying to decorate the place…it certainly will be unique anyways.  Then again, I’m close enough to that already with two sets of hangars standing behind my couch, so maybe it won’t be t hat different!  Let’s see – I’ll need a front load, similar to the one I have…perhaps one of these bosch washing machines would do?

Then again, who am I kidding?  Since we’ve been here we’re on a very tight budget with neither the Luv Luv nor I working, we are very short on money – being careful in the grocery for what we buy much less new appliances!  I guess I’m stuck with the laundry the way it is….which is annoying..cause the laundry never ends…

Do you have any suggestions on how to possibly make this easier and faster for me?
