Quick White Bread

By Krati @simplykrati

This time I decided to get my hands on bread baking. And boy, it was amazing! Nothing can match up the taste of a freshly baked bread, especially a hand baked bread. You won’t even realize how quickly the whole bread disappears as soon as it is baked. Bread baking is really like an addiction, once you start you wont stop. So,dig into this art of baking and grab hold of:

  • strong white bread flour
  • caster sugar
  • salt
  • fast action dried yeast
  • milk powder
  • sunflower oil
  • warm water for kneading

Measure the ingredients and knead into a soft dough.

Tip the dough out on  lightly floured surface and knead well for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. An interesting tip-this is a good workout for your muscles and an awesome way to take out all your frustration on the dough. The amount of frustration taken out on the dough is directly proportional to the quality of bread. ;)

Grease a tin, put the dough in it covering it loosely with oiled cling film or a damp tea towel.

Leave it to rise for about 45 minutes or until doubled in size. Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celsius.

Remove the cling film and bake it for about 30-35 minutes depending on the size of the loaf or until it is golden brown in color and sounds hollow when tapped at the back.

Enjoy the freshness of a home baked bread.
