Summer isn’t over, and if you’re regretting you haven’t set your foot on the beach yet, don’t be! Beaches near Metro Manila especially during weekends could be crowded, and it is not good though. Well, if you’re just looking for a beach – like – experience just to quench the heat of summer, better find alternative ways to enjoy the season. The refreshingly cold, fresh and surging water of Daranak Falls will surely kill that tempting desire. The Daranak Falls has 14-meter high waterfalls cascading into a deep catch basin that serves as its natural pool which will make a perfect summer or even a year - round getaway.

It is concealed on the mountainside of Sierra Madre Mountain Range in the town of Tandang Kutyo, Tanay, Rizal.  It is now becoming popular to locals and tourists because of its accessibility from the metro. Visitors find its pool as perfect for cliff diving, interested divers will be attended by the local guide for safety.

Swimmers and non-swimmers both can enjoy the enticing azure cold water of the falls. Rubber tube is available for those who want to relax in the middle of its pool.

What’s good about the falls is it turned into a park facility; restaurant, souvenir shops, cottages are available here. The local government is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the park.
Daranak Falls is open daily from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, entrance fee for adult is 20 pesos and 15 pesos for kids. Picnic shed is available for 300 pesos, whereas picnic table is for 150 pesos. Overnight camping is not allowed. All alcoholic beverages are not allowed. 
Additional tip: If you're into adrenaline activities such trekking and river crossing, you can also do the Tinipak River in Daraitan, Tanay which is just an hour away from Daranak Falls. How to get to Daranak Falls: 
1. From Starmall FX/van Terminal, Shaw Boulevard, ride a van bound to Tanay, Rizal for 70Php. The van stops at the Tanay Public Market. Travel time is about 1.5 – 2 hours.
2. At Tanay Public Market, hire a tricycle going to Daranak Falls for 100Php oneway.
