Project: Thankful // Day 24
Thankful for easy DIY projects that make the mantle just a little more festive…
I was originally inspired by these when I saw them at | Anthropologie | but the $28 price tag seemed a little steep, so I decided to make them myself.
I’d seen these miniature trees at Jo-Anns, but when I was at Wal-Mart earlier tonight, I saw the exact same ones. I also picked up a pack of Buffalo Snow Flakes at Wal-Mart for $2.50 (I have no idea why it’s called buffalo), and the jars I stole borrowed from my mom. I definitely overestimated the size of each tree that would fit in the jar and ended up having to use mostly little ones, but thankfully, I had one huge mason jar from my great aunt that held a 9″ tree perfectly!
Simply stick the tree to the top of your lid (I just used double-sided tape), pour a little Buffalo Snow into your jar, and gently screw your lid on.
Turn your jar upside down and viola! Instant snow globe!
They add just the right amount of winter to our mantle.
So, so thankful for mindless projects at 10 PM.
