Product Review | Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover

I wanted to talk about this product today, because it is something I've started using recently and it's really made a difference to the way I go about manicuring my nails. I have weirdly flexible nails, which seem unable to hold nail polish for any length of time (not even CND Stickey can help me!). I love having my nails painted, but I want my manicures to be as quick as possible, because I can't really justify spending ages painting my nails only to have them all chip a day later.

I'm also OCD with my nails: they have to be completely de-cuticled before I paint them. So before I started using the Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover I would soak them in warm water for ages to get my cuticles prepped. This REALLY went against my speedy manicure rule, and hence they never happened much. Until now...

Well let me say, this product speeds things up very nicely! The instructions say to apply a thin strip around the cuticles, wait 15 seconds and then push the cuticles back with an orange stick or whatever you like to use. I apply it to all the fingers on one hand, and by the time I've done the fifth finger, I figure 15 seconds has passed and I go back and start pushing back the cuticles. At this point my cuticles will have started softening up, but I don't find them to be that easily removable after 15 seconds, so after I've gone over the whole hand once, I then go back over each finger again to get everything. This method works really well for me.Then I wash my hands because you're not supposed to have it on your skin for more than 1 minute. I've never had any reactions or irritation from the gel though. Once I've repeated this on the second hand, I'd done! All ready to paint!

As I said, this made a big difference to my manicures. It's quick and easy to use, and very effective at removing my cuticles. A manicure staple. If you're thinking about trying this product and haven't yet, it has a thumbs up from me!
