Preparing for Top Drawer

By Decorque

It’s been difficult finding time to write new content for the blog, when we are so busy here at Decorque, with Top Drawer only a few days away now and a show at Millets Craft & Gift Fair in Oxfordshire the weekend after it is all systems go for us!

But, as we are introducing new products into our home accessories range, I thought I’d share some of the process with you. It has been hard work, but there have been some great moments. When the ten meter roll of fabric arrived fresh from the printers, unrolling it to reveal, spaced designs for cushions and strips for lampshades and table runners, was an exciting moment. The clarity of detail and richness of color was fantastic!

Making our cushions

I couldn’t wait to actually get making the finished products. I think we all love a great cushion – it just livens up that boring sofa or chair. We have a choice of duo design cushions, a different coordinating design on each side, so for a fresh look you can just turn it over.

In the midst of all this activity, Nala the company cat came to stay for a few days. After initially finding it all very interesting and getting her nose in numerous shots of the products, she finally got bored and crashed out covering her eyes for a little peace! Think she’d had enough!

Lampshades can be so inspirational once the light goes on. Actually making them is not quite as easy as it looks, the process definitely takes time and patience. But it’s worth it when that flat decorative print comes to life.

Making the lampshades

The new Decorque brochures arrived, and are a triumph. Our new concept ‘Shop by Colour’ has come to life in print, thanks to Harriet our Head of Graphics, Social Media and P.R. The art prints are framed, cards sorted into their color range and just the cork placemats and coasters to select from stock. Yes, I think we are nearly there!

Products ready for the show

Well, only the stand to go!! Hope to see you there!

Top Drawer opens it’s doors this Sunday 15th and runs until Tuesday 17th – so pop along to say hi, we’d love to see you.
