Pregnancy Updates
- I will enter my 8th month on August 22nd. My mom says it's a critical month and I should take more and more rest, reduce the travel time (I have to go to office in a cab).
- I have not gained weight so far except my tummy where the pretty thing is taking rest. Before pregnancy, I was b/w 60 kg, a little overweight. The ideal weight according to my height and age is 54Kg. After pregnancy and in my third trimester, I lost 3-4 Kg and gained the same wight in 2nd trimester. As My third trimester has started, I am 67 now which is just the right amount of weight as I am carrying baby's weight too.
- I really enjoy the kicks and punches of little thing in there, they feel like tickle. When I eat too hot or too cold, it kinds of flutter in my stomach. The best feeling ever!
Suggestions I follow - I am cautious and take a note in my mind of the times when it flutters or kicks. I get a little nervous when these movements are late, but they do happen so there is nothing to worry about. It is something you should worry about when it doesn't happen!
- I have gone through all my tests and glad that everything is normal. My parents are diabetic so I am more prone to getting gestational diabetes so I went for a test in which I had to go for blood test empty stomach. And this test is also normal. Yay!!
- Occasionally, I get swollen hands or feet but they disappear in few hours. They don't pain but itch because of the swelling, this is how I get to know that my feet/hands are swollen. Doctor says I just need to use moisturizer to get relief from itching, and swelling is normal.  Good for me!
- I am running short of clothes now, my resort is night gowns, big T-shirts etc. I am big for almost all bottoms, there are two jeans by Mango (thankfully in blue and charcoal black and these two colors work with most of my work wears) that work. I am also wearing suit and salwar quite often as they are more comfortable than jeans. I still think of those ladies who walk in heels and tight clothes while they are pregnant, hats off to them! They make it work and they look ultra stylish.
- My skin is not giving me that much problem, and it is behaving the same way as it did before pregnancy during these seasons. The only weird thing is that my neck is getting darker, I hate that. Mum says it's normal and it will go away after delivery. I really hope so!
- My staple diet includes milk, banana (folic acid), apple, sprouts, spinach (iron) and eggplant (folic acid). It might sound funny but banana is one of my favorite fruits so I really enjoy eating it. But milk and apple are two things that I consume like  medicine. I am fond of eggplant and spinach, so no complaints!
- I recently changed my health drink to women horlicks. I love the flavor because it reminds me of childhood when my mom used to give us horlicks and I used to eat it dry. I think we all have done this during our childhoods, haven't we? My husband has done the same thing.
- I am very much healthy and do not have any issues while doing daily household chores that includes cooking, and washing clothes in washing machine. Cleaning, dusting and doing dishes are taken care by our maid.
- My favorite food during pregnancy (right from the first month on!) is chawal-peelidal-karele ki bhujiya-bharwa baingan, and khichdi. I know, khichdi too. But I can really eat these any day, any time! I have developed a fondness for desi ghee that I didn't like earlier. And, dishes with Indian style gravy work like a repellent to me.
- They say that  I'll gain weight after pregnancy and this is what I am most terrified of. But I am prepared to start gym once I am done all the things that delivery and motherhood would bring.
- I am a working woman and wish to remain one. I don't know how motherhood would change it but I have already planned to keep a full time maid so she can help me with baby and other chores. I am just not too optimistic about keeping maid though.
- I am very lucky to have found V as my life partner. He has been helping me throughout. He has been making dough for chapatis since the first month, makes milk for me every day without missing it (I get lazy when I have to prepare milk for myself as I kind of shirk!), cuts salad for me that mainly includes beet root, apple and cucumber, soaks and makes sprouts for me, massages my feet when I have pain, pays attention to what I need and boosts my confidence when I am a little nervous or taking stress. I am not lucky only because he does all this for me, but I am lucky because he is my friend. We work in same office, we take breaks together and love talking about different things. He is a real foodie, loves eating so he decided to start his own blog - fOOd aur mOOd. So, he also understands if I am spending some time on SSU. We do fight sometimes but I let it go and this is how we are moving together! So  together and all prepared to start parenthood, rather we have already started. Wish us good luck!
- Last but not the least, I would like to thank Shalini of Be Beautilicious who keeps helping me by giving advice and commenting on my posts. Shalini, I have started using pillow for my legs and they have helped me a lot. And, each one of you to make me feel you presence through your comments, likes on  SSU, Facebook and Instagram that always touches my heart.
So, what was your experience when you were in your 7th or 8th month?
