Pop Culture League Fifth Challenge: Buying Blind

This week’s challenge is “Buying Blind: Who doesn’t love gambling on a blind box or mystery package?” My initial reaction was, well, me! I cannot remember ever buying a mystery package, or even being tempted to. Then I realized there was an exception. Of all the things I had as a child, I still have my Richie Rich collection, and my Lego. For years, Lego has released “series” of minifigures in blind bags, and I grab them every chance I can! These figures have much better costumes and accessories than the ones included in sets, and come with a base plate to display them on. My most recent find usually lives in my breakfront for a few days before joining the rest in a box.

With 3D printing, custom Lego heads can now be created. Custom decals can be created as well. If it did not violate copyright, it would be fun to use these technologies to make Lego Richie Rich characters. Maybe some day…
