Pomegranates describe their sound as Psych-Soul-Punk – and with such a vast array of influences it’s easy to imagine a mess of conflicting craziness. The Cincinnati band is far from that however, effortless creating spectacularly tight pop gems that weave in and out of aesthetics. Their newest track “High Class” takes the more punk/psych route, featuring driving percussion layered with alternatingly stabbing and billowing guitars. The track maintains a sense of urgency and wild abandon for its entirety and is never less than fascinating.
