ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan today announced election schedule for two vacant seats in Senate of Pakistan. Recently two PPP senators Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani resigned from their seats in upper house of Parliament.
Hafeez Sheikh was elected from Sindh as a “Technocrat” and he resigned citing personal reasons. Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani was elected from Baluchistan assembly on general seats and he resigned from his Parliament seat to join Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). He met with PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on announced his decision to join his party.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has notified both the assemblies to elect one member for upper house of Parliament and has issued a schedule in this regard as well.
