I'm a big poetry fan and use it a great deal on walks!
Obviously I use lots on the Shakespeare and Dickens walk - notably 'All the world's a stage' in the Shakespeare garden at Aldermanbury and from 'The Tempest', Prospero's 'Our revels now are ended' in Playhouse Yard at Blackfriars at the end of the walk.
Poetry also pops up a bit on my Oscar Wilde walk in Mayfair with a bit of 'The Ballad of Reading Gaol' -
'Yet each man kills the thing he loves By each let this be heard ..."
Finally, you might like to know I am being extremely poetical this year as I recently compiled and recorded an anthology of poetry and prose by women in the First World War and am doing various talks and events about it including one at the Guildhall next month.
