His emotion is part of who he is. Fans have grown accustomed to seeing a raging Kevin Youkilis on the field, and never is he more angry than when he is hit by a pitch, which happens with an alarming frequency. When he recently married the sister of Patriots superstar Tom Brady, some thought that an ever-elusive tranquility may come with the relationship. But when a recent Brady family get together turned ugly, Youk's rage was plain to see.
The Brady's had gathered for a recent Sunday dinner, and since it was an unseasonably warm spring day, they decided to play an impromptu game of of touch football. "So we're out there just having this fun time," Tom Brady told Call of the Green Monster. "And my sister's going long for a pass, and I threw it a little short. Kevin was covering her, and the ball hit him in the back. No big deal, right? Wrong."
Evidently Youkilis crashed to the ground, and began writhing in pain. When he finally got to his feet, he charged his brother-in-law to be, before being wrestled to the ground by the Brady sisters. "Which makes him an idiot and a wimp," Brady said. "I can't believe this guy is my brother-in-law. Wait til we have the family Whiffle ball tournament."
"I had to send a message," said Youkilis, trying to point to an undetectable bruise on his back. "I don't care who the guy is, he's not going to be throwing at me. Who the hell does he think he is, Joba Chamberlain?"
