Playing Games – Nostalgia

Posted on the 29 November 2015 by Cheekymeeky

People who know me in real-life know that I love to play card games. It might be fair to say that I am simply obsessed by them.

Rummy, Ace, hearts, bluff, solitaire (if no one is around), all are games I adore.

This habit of playing cards started from a very young age when my grandma (my dad's mom) who was obsessed with card playing herself taught me and my cousins all the games she knew. My entire summer holidays would be spent with all of us huddled together in the living room with two packs of cards, lots of Bournvita and snacks on hand, and we would spend the entire day and sometimes even nights playing games continuously.

Aah, the good ole days when I actually had summer holidays. I miss them so bad, I miss also the simple companionship (and the competitiveness) of my childhood summers when it was so easy for all of us to get together.

Now though, with so little free time, and everyone spread across different cities, online is the way to go, and that's the way I get my rummy fix playing online rummy at gorummy.

It's a simple and easy to use site, and there is always someone available and willing to play when you are free. And while I am into cards, I am not into gambling with money so their Fun Games option that allows you to play cards for free without betting. And of course, if you want to play for stakes, that's available too.

What I particularly like is that it is fully responsive, you can play on laptop or tablet (which is what I mostly use), which is perfect for those on-the-go days where I am killing time waiting for one kid or the other to finish their class/birthday party/soft play time slots.

I also like that it's fairly transparent about what it offers, and with clear and simple instructions about the rules of the game. Also there is no sleaze (sidey-looking girls), or off-putting pop-up ads on the website.

I think the latter alone are enough to sell the site to me
