#plaque366 Frank Bates Jazz Singer The Southern Syncopated Orchestra took London by storm in 1919, comprised of British West African and West Indian musicians alongside Americans. They performed for the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) at Buckingham Palace as well as the Albert Hall for the 1st anniversary of the Armistice.
