Plaque of the Week No.111: Jimi Hendrix Return of the Plaque of the Week!
Our Plaque of the Week series returns for a 12 week run…

A second plaque on the modern Bag O Nails relates that Paul McCartney met his first wife Linda here.
The name Bag O’ Nails is not uncommon in the world of English pubs. Legend has it that the name is a corruption of “Bacchanals” – the rites and festivals enacted in honor of Bacchus, the Greek god of wine. It is more likely, however, that the name derives from a sign once used by ironmongers.
The Rock’n’Roll London walk goes every Friday at 2.00pm. From 1st May 2013 there also a ROCK’N’ROLL LONDON PUB WALK on Wednesday nights at 7:00p.m. Both walks meet at Tottenham Court Road Station (exit 3).
A London Walk costs £9 – £7 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
