Breast Cancer Awareness Equals

We can never talk enough about Breast Cancer Awareness. If you missed my previous post, Pink October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I highly recommend you give it a read.

Spreading Awareness

There are so many women in the world that aren’t practicing Prevention. By Prevention I mean:

  • Performing monthly self-exams
  • Getting a Mammogram
  • Having annual physical exams

It’s imperative that we start doing monthly self-exams! This is the way we find out what our breasts feel like and will be able to notice any changes. Changes that could lead to life or death.

Let’s be Proactive with Prevention

Breast Cancer An Ounce of Prevention

Were you aware that some of these could increase your chance at Breast Cancer?

Let’s look at some Quick Facts

Breast Cancer Statistics

Breast Cancer Know No Gender or Color

  • Men and Women are susceptible.
  • Caucasians are at the highest risk.

Don’t Believe the Rumors

Breast Cancer I Heard it Hurts

I heard it hurts having a Mammogram?

  • Do you believe everything you hear? Did you know that people have different pain thresholds? When we are discussing our breasts, no two (2) are the same. What one person may feel as pressure, someone else may feel is agonizing pain.
  • Don’t let FEAR deter you from a Mammogram!

Tis Better to Know than be Surprised, No?

Breast Cancer How Long Does It Take To Get The Results

Getting your results can vary from person to person and Hospital to Hospital. It really depends on how fast the x-rays make it to your Physician and how fast he/she is able to read your x-rays.

Whatever you do, DON’T PANIC!

Yes, I can say this because I was recalled back for a second mammogram and an ultrasound. Breast Health: Weighing Your Options. Although I did panic and swear I had Breast Cancer, I was fortunate enough to just have a few benign cysts that are now being watched.

Update! As of my last mammogram, no changes has happened to my cysts which is Great news! See, DON’T PANIC UNTIL YOU HAVE TOO!

Are you being Proactive?

When was the last time you had a mammogram? Do you perform regular self-exams? Come on ladies, there is no shame in playing with the twins every now and again. Don’t forget, our partners can also get Breast Cancer so why not play together?
