Councilman E. Olson (D-College Park) introduced legislation to ban slots in the County. Citing high foreclosure rates and an unstable economic environment, Olson said that slots “are not a good fit” for Prince George’s County. I have to agree. Thinking of Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Charleston, WV, I don’t see where the economies or school districts of these cities have improved as a result of having gambling establishments.

Seems that a LOT of people are against the Department of Housing and Community Development’s move from Anne Arundel County to Prince George’s County. This article is all over the place in reasons for not moving or spending money to move; one salient point is that a majority of employees live in Anne Arundel County but being one who lives in PGCo and works in DC, I’m just not that moved. If you don’t want to move, there are PGCo residents who will gladly take your job.
